Yikes, things are getting messy in Madonna’s custody battle with Guy Ritchie. The exes have both lawyered up, in New York and London, respectively, but the judges have made totally opposite rulings, turning this into a bitter, international battle!
Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s son, Rocco, is only 15-years-old…but he wants to make his own decisions. Unfortunately for Madge, that means staying in London with his dad for the holidays…and the pop star isn’t having it. Now, the ex-couple is embroiled in a brutal custody battle, and the judges in London and New York City are in complete disagreement!
When Madonna found out her son was staying in the UK instead of flying back home like he was supposed to, she went to court, and a judge ordered Rocco to return. But Guy was a step ahead, and reportedly went to a London court himself — and the judge there agreed to let the teenager stay. Ah!
Now, Christmas is just one day away, and it appears these two aren’t any closer to settling things. According to the original report, Rocco simply wanted to stay across the pond because he wanted to have a “normal” holiday break, rather than spend it touring with the pop star. It’s totally understandable — it must be a hectic lifestyle — but we, of course, have to feel for Madonna, too.
Fellow celebrity Kelly Rutherford has been going through a similar situation with her ex and two kids, and sadly, a judge recently ruled that she would NOT be getting to keep her kids in the States — they’ll be living in Monaco with their dad. These two have gone back and forth for quit some time over this issue, but according to the judge, this is the FINAL ruling. We hope Madonna’s case doesn’t get this out-of-hand, and that she and Rocco can work things out on their own! In the meantime, check out her latest album RIGHT HERE.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Rocco should be forced to come home for the holidays? Or should he stay where he wants?
