Get ready Jelena fans, because Aussie singer Troye Sivan is about to make your day! The 20-year-old crooner has just created an EPIC mash-up of Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ and Selena Gomez’s ‘Hands To Myself,’ and it’s beyond perfect! Listen here!
Justin Bieber, 21, and Selena Gomez, 23, make such sweet music together! After releasing a steamy duet back in October, the former lovers have reunited on yet another epic track together — this time at the hands of Australian singer Troye Sivan, 20. The Blue Neighbourhood crooner blended Justin’s hit “Sorry” with Selena’s chart-topping “Hands To Myself” to create an incredible mash-up of the songs, and like the artists themselves, you’ll be amazed at how perfectly they fit together. At face value, Selena’s “Hands to Myself” and Justin’s “Sorry” might not seem like ideal mashup companions. On the one hand, Selena’s sultry number finds her craving her man’s touch, while on the other, Justin sings about longing for forgiveness while admitting, it’s about “more than just your body.” But, it’s that shared, underlying desire for something (or should we say someone) that Troye uses to seamlessly blend the two together in his dreamy new mash-up.
In the video — which was released via The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Troye first performed the jam — the Australian crooner stands basked in soft purple light as he dives into Selena’s steamy lyrics: “Can’t keep my hands to myself/No matter how hard I’m trying to.” It’s when he gets to the chorus though, that Troye switches gears, injecting the downtempo medley with lines from Justin’s brooding song:”Is it too late to say sorry/Because I’m missing more than just your body/Oh, is it to late to say sorry/I know I let you down, but is it too late to say sorry now.”
We never would have guessed that these two songs would have blended together so beautifully, and yet, Troye completely nails it! Of course, it probably helps that Justin’s song was originally written with Selena in mind. As we previously suggested, the lyrics seem to point directly to the Biebs tumultuous on-again-off-again relationship with Selena. Case-in-point, this verse: “I know you know that I/made those mistakes maybe once or twice/And by once or twice I mean/may maybe a couple a hundred times.” Selena may have since moved on (Niall Horan, we’re looking at you), but thanks to this mash-up, we’ll always have a little piece of Jelena.
