Tinamy fans rejoice! The amazing duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosted the ‘Saturday Night Live’ Christmas show on Dec. 19 and it was everything we hoped it would be! Including the triumphant return of some old favorites – Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin!
The only way the Dec. 19 Saturday Night Live annual Christmas show could have been more amazing is if Tina Fey, 45, and Amy Poehler, 44, had hosted it. Oh wait, they did! And it was awesome. We got to see some of our old favorite characters, and bask in the Tinamy glory. Here’s the scoop!
Tina and Amy finally came back to SNL on Dec. 19 as the most epic hosting duo ever, and we’re still trying to recover! With their help, the Christmas show was everything we hoped it would be and then some. However, the best part was the return of Amy’s Hillary Clinton and Tina’s Sarah Palin – thank goodness!
The sketch opened with Amy’s 2008 Hillary visiting Kate McKinnon’s 2015 Hillary in a dream. The two reminisce about the old times while the new version fills Amy in on what’s happened since Hillary’s first campaign. Amy falls on the floor in disbelief when she learns Donald Trump – just a billionaire during her first round – is now top running GOP candidate. Old Hillary reminds new Hillary that last time she got cocky, Barack Obama came and took the presidency.
When we thought it couldn’t get better than that, Tina shows up with her infamous Sarah impression. She gloats about doing better than Hillary in 2008, and talks a whole lot of hysterical nonsense. After a near-fistfight, the gals all make up and have a dance party – because of course they do. We’re obsessed! The sketch was even more hysterical because it came on the same night as the Democratic debate where Hillary slayed!
Tina and Amy are having a major week! Their SNL hosting gig came just one day after the release of their new movie Sisters, in which they play – of course – a pair of sisters. We had high hopes for the movie since it was the first they’ve starred int together since Baby Mama in 2008, and it definitely lived up to our expectations! As did their hosting of SNL. Keep up the amazing work, gals!
