You go, Glen Coco! Adele has decided to open up about her smart decision to quit smoking, and she confesses that had she not done so the nasty habit definitely would have killed her.
Adele, 27, has the voice of an angel, and she finally decided to preserve it — and her life — by quitting smoking. Hopefully her story will inspire others to do the same!
“If I’d carried on smoking, I’d probably have died from a smoking-related illness, and I think that’s really bad,” Adele told The Mirror in an interview, finally sharing why she decided to nix the unhealthy habit from her lifestyle. Definitely a smart decision, especially now that she’s a mother to her son, Angelo, who is 3 years old. Apparently, her son had a lot to do with her decision to quit, too.
“I absolutely loved it, but it’s not that f**king cool when I’m dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is, like, devastated,” the singer told Rolling Stone in a separate interview. She also confessed that if she had gotten lung cancer she wouldn’t have been very proud of herself, admitting that it would have been her own fault.
Well, it’s safe to say that Adele is very smart for her decision to quit — and her family must be very happy about it, too!
As many of Adele’s fans might remember, she was forced to take a break from singing in 2011 when she suddenly lost her voice during a live radio show in France. The singer later explained that it was like someone “put a curtain” over her vocal cords, and like “something had popped” inside her throat. Scary.
