Wow, tell us how you really feel, Amy! The ‘Sisters’ star didn’t hold anything back while discussing her feelings about the new ‘Star Wars’ movie on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers,’ admitting she’s ‘never f-king’ cared about the franchise and is really ‘tired of pretending’ like she does. Say what?!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens may be the hottest movie release of the year, but it looks like there is at least one person who won’t be lining up to catch the intergalactic flick: Amy Poehler, 44! The typically sunny Parks and Rec actress completely lost her cool while discussing the franchise on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Dec. 17, admitting that she’s “sick” of talking about the film and quite frankly, just doesn’t “f-king care.” Watch her hilarious rant below!
With her new film Sisters hitting theaters on Dec. 18, the same day as the new Star Wars movie, host Seth Meyers, 41, decided to give Amy and her co-stars — Tiny Fey, 45, Ike Barinholtz, 38, Rachel Dratch, 49, Paula Pell, 52, and Maya Rudolph, 43, — the chance to promote their film by using figurines from the beloved sci-fi franchise. Unfortunately, the game didn’t go over too well with Amy, who decided to call out the film with a number of expletives.
“I have read this guy’s name three times,” she said of her Constable Zuvio figurine. “I don’t remember it. I don’t care! I don’t care about Star Wars and I never f–king did! I’m tired of pretending! I’m tired of pretending! I don’t care about it,” she added as all her friends laughed. “This guy’s face is covered up because he’s so embarrassed that he’s got to go see Star Wars. He’s like, ‘Hey, man.’ I don’t know, just…F–k! I’m so sick of it.”
Ouch! At least Amy’s co-stars seemed to have a good time with the game. Tina decided to give her character, PZ-4CO, a hilarious Italian accent after calling him”PZ-4ZO,” while Rachel did her best Wookie impression. Maya also had some fun with Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awaken‘s new droid, BB-8. Speaking in a robotic voice, she joked, “I will never know the touch of a real woman. Please go see Sisters.” Solid pitch, Maya.
Star Wars jokes aside, Seth also asked Tina and Amy about their 20-year friendship. “We are common-law comedy wives at this point,” Amy joked. “We have worked together long enough that we—well, I feel like I own half of what Tina has. I don’t know if she does.”
The two even admitted to have their own secret language, which if you ask us, just makes us love them that much more. “It’s not all the way twin speak, but if we’re in a crowded place we can both be like, ‘The thing we need to with Seth? Got it,'” said Tina talking very fast and mumbling a bit.
“We can talk about people in front of them and they don’t really understand,” Amy added. They then proceeded to have an entire conversation about Fred Armisen, the leader of Seth’s band, as he looked on confused. Would you expect any less of Amy and Tina? Us neither.
