Twenty past ‘Survivor’ castaways got a second chance — but only one received the title of sole ‘Survivor’ on the live season 31 finale on Dec. 16. So, did your favorite win?
The theme of Survivor Second Chance was “expect the unexpected.” Well, even Jeff Probst didn’t see this finale coming. After the craziest tribal in the history of the show, Cambodia went from a final six — Spencer Bledsoe, Jeremy Collins, Tasha Fox, Kimmi Kappenberg, Keith Nale, and Kelley Wentworth — to one million dollar winner.
For the first time in the Survivor history, a vote literally came down to a public discussion after so many votes were thrown away. You can read the breakdown here, but it did result in Kimmi heading home.
Next, the final four headed to the last immunity challenge, which had five different stations, and all ended with a puzzle. It was absolutely insane but Wentworth actually pulled out the W! So, she made a fake immunity idol to make it seem like Keith found an idol — she wanted to send home either Jeremy or Spencer. However, it didn’t work, and he was sent home.
The final four went to the last immunity challenge that all focused on concentration, staying calm, and alert. And for the first time all season, Jeremy won immunity, and immediately started crying. The tribal all came down to this — who would Jeremy take? He kept his loyalty to his alliance and Wentworth went home (even though Spencer literally was barking at him).
It All Comes Down To This
So, Jeremy, Spence and Tash all had to make their case to the Survivor jury: Kass McQuillen, Andrew Savage, Kelly Wiglesworth, Ciera Eastin, Stephen Fishbach, Joe Anglim, Abi-Maria Gomes, Kimmi, Keith and Kelley. It was pretty much what you expected: Spencer was called out for that barking that came out as arrogance; Jeremy cried and was “bugging out” over missing his wife’s pregnancy — and he told everyone he was having a son, something he kept inside the whole time; and Wiglesworth asked the question that lost her the title 15 years ago: pick a number between one and ten.
So, who won it all? JEREMY! He actually swept it all and got all ten votes. Are you thrilled like I am, HollywoodLifers?
