Tori Kelly is one of the hottest singers ever so it makes sense that her duet with Jeffrey Austin was incredible on ‘The Voice’ finale on Dec. 15!
Tori Kelly, 22, released her most passionate song yet, “Hollow” in October this year, so it makes sense that she’d want to sing that on The Voice. She joined Gwen Stefani‘s remaining team member, Jeffery Austin on the finale for a beautiful duet, and we have to say — we were blown away. Did you love their duet?
The pair were matching in all head to toe black, and it definitely went perfectly with the tone of the song — emotional, and a little dark. Even the stage was being filled with smoke while they were singing!
The song was written by Tori and L.A. musician, Zac Poor and she refers to it as her love letter to God. When asked to describe the ballad in three words, she revealed it was honest, vulnerable, and epic. We’d have to agree! Tori actually knows a thing or two about competing in a singing show — she actually auditioned for American Idol. Stream music, completely unlimited and ad-free, RIGHT HERE
“It was definitely an experience. I was 16 years old when I did it and I was curious about how I would do on the show. I didn’t expect to meet some of my closest friends on the show now that I still keep in touch with,” she revealed in Marie Claire. “Looking back I think it was a blessing in disguise that I got cut from the show when I did because right after that was when I got more serious about songwriting and that’s actually when I started posting videos.” She was recognized by Scooter Braun after posting a Frank Ocean cover.
