If you ask Donald Trump, the final GOP debate of 2015 is the last time we’ll be Jeb Bush for a long time — he may be a tough guy, but it’s not enough to beat Trump to the top! What exactly did the former governor say to strike such a sore spot?
Presidential candidate Jeb Bush isn’t doing well in the polls, but at the final GOP presidential debate of 2015, he was a bonafide shark going for Donald Trump‘s blood. The current frontrunner has talked (yelled) a good talk, but Bush doesn’t think he has what it takes to lead. And Trump doesn’t think Bush will even have the chance to find out!
“This is a tough business, to run for president,” Bush told Trump after the businessman lashed out at the CNN moderators for what he called “unprofessional” behavior throughout the debates, asking more questions about him to other candidates, and less to him. Someone should probably tell him that CNN hasn’t hosted all of the debates…
Interrupting Trump’s rant, Bush said: “This is a tough business, to run for president,” insinuating that Trump didn’t have the temperament to hold the presidency, because he couldn’t deal with such small difficulties in his every day life. Of course, Trump is not someone to take an insult laying down, especially from someone he genuinely thinks is beneath him.
“Oh, you’re a tough guy, Jeb,” Trump shot back. “I’m at 42 [percent] and you’re at three [percent].” Those figures refer to their standings in the polls. Once a promising contender for frontrunner, Bush has slide down the ladder to one of the candidates with the lowest scores. But that might all change after tonight’s debate. It’s the last GOP debate for 2015, but the Iowa Caucus is just around the corner; in a mere seven weeks, one of the most important events in the entire presidential race will be happening. Is Bush going to be out of the running?
