To anyone who says wrestling is ‘fake,’ talk to Sheamus. After defeating Roman Reigns in a devastating Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at ‘WWE TLC’ on Dec. 13, Sheamus flaunted the bruises and bloody scars he earned while defending his WWE Championship. Click to see.
It looked all over for Sheamus, 37. Roman Reigns, 30, had slammed the WWE Heavyweight champion through a table at WWE’s TLC. However, the Celtic Warrior would walk out of the event with the title belt wrapped still around his waist. He also would have plenty of bloody cuts and bruises from the horrific match to go with it!
“And still YOUR WWE World Heavy Weight Champion,” Sheamus wrote on his Twitter on Dec. 13, dissing all his haters in the WWE Universe who wanted to see Roman take the title at TLC on Dec. 13. “You’ll never beat the Irish,” he added, while posting a picture of his beaten and bloody back.
The WWE champ clearly had some battle damage from his Tables, Ladders and Chairs match with Roman. During the WWE title match, both Roman and Sheamus used the aforementioned chairs and ladders to beat the daylights out of each other. During the fight, Sheamus tried to take Roman out with his Beats Of The Bodhran move, but was thrown out of the ring and through a table!
Judging by that huge black mark on Sheamus’s lower back, that crash is not something he’s going to easily shake off. After that impact, it looked like there would be a new WWE Champion. Thankfully for Sheamus, his teammates in the League Of Nations — King Barrett, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev — interfered in the match and allowed Sheamus to retain the championship. Roman will have to get his revenge another day. Sheamus practically stole the WWE title away from Roman at WWE’s Survivor Series, cashing in his “anywhere, anytime” Money In The Bank contract at the end of the event. Roman had just beaten Dean Ambrose in a long, exhausting match and he could not stop Sheamus from nailing the Brogue Kick for the victory.
However, Roman did get a sense of satisfaction at the end of WWE’s TLC. Roman had begun attacking Sheamus and his crew with a chair after the match, which brought out Triple H to save the day. So, Roman decided to vent his frustration by attacking Hunter Hearst Helmsley, powerboming him through the announcer’s table before taking him out with the Spear. Triple H had to be carried out of the Boston arena on a stretcher, reports WWE. Yikes!
Will Roman face Triple H’s wrath at Monday Night Raw? Did you want Sheamus to win, HollywoodLifers? Who should face Sheamus next for the title?
