After experiencing ‘great results’ the first time around, Kim Kardashian has revealed once again that she will be eating her own placenta after the birth of baby Saint. What do you think — good idea or just plain weird?
Snacking on one’s own placenta may sound like a pretty gross practice but for Kim Kardashian, 35, it’s just the all-natural gift that keeps on giving! After experimenting with the controversial health practice after the birth of her first child North West, 2, Kim has decided to once again consume her own afterbirth for what she claims are a number of amazing health benefits. See below for how she is doing it and why!
In a new blog posted to her website on Dec. 14, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star admitted that she is eating her placenta after giving birth to her second child, Saint West, and she even shared a photo of her supplements on her website. “So, I’m really not this holistic person or someone who would have ever considered eating my placenta,” she wrote in her post aptly titled, ‘Eating My Placenta.’ “I actually thought Kourtney [Kardashian] would have soooo done this, but I don’t think she did.” (For the record, Kourt, did consume placenta pills).
“And when I say ‘eat my placenta,’ I mean that I’m having it freeze-dried and made into a pill form—not actually fry it like a steak and eat it (which some people do, BTW),” she continued. Good to know!
Kim Kardashian On Eating Her Own Placenta: ‘I Feel Really Healthy’
Kim decided to give the method another go after testing it out after her first pregnancy. “I heard so many stories when I was pregnant with North of moms who never ate their placenta with their first baby and then had postpartum depression, but then when they took the pills with their second baby, they did not suffer from depression!” she wrote. “So I thought, why not try it? What do I have to lose? I really didn’t want the baby blues and thought I can’t go wrong with taking a pill made of my own hormones—made by me, for me.”
Turns out, the placenta pills were a huge hit for Kim the first time around. “I had great results and felt so energized and didn’t have any signs of depression!” she gushed on her site. “I definitely had to do it again. Every time I take a pill, I feel a surge of energy and feel really healthy and good. I totally recommend it for anyone considering it!”
