“After everything started to settle down from the first release of stuff in the news about Josh, we got word of a second thing that we had no clue about,” John-David tells the camera. “That was a little more of a shock probably than the first stuff coming out. I always wanted to be like him. But one of the toughest things I had to tell my older brother was, ‘I don’t want to be like you anymore.'”
“I don’t think there’s any way any of us would have known that my brother was living such a secret life,” Joseph says. “It broke my heart. Whenever somebody you respect the most is willing to get up and proclaim what we believe as Christians, about being true to your wife, you’d never think that that’s the person who’s involved in it.”
That “first stuff”Joseph speaks about is Josh’s other sexual scandal of the summer, the accusations that he molested five underaged girls, including sisters Jill and Jessa Duggar. Yikes. It’s interesting that those accusations, made by their own sisters, weren’t what made John-David and Joseph lose respect for their brother. But maybe they were just holding hope that he would reform — until the second scandal hit? Relive better times with the Duggars by buying the last season of 19 Kids and Counting RIGHT HERE!
When the cheating site Ashley Madison was hacked in August 2015, Josh Duggar was one of the names that turned up in the raid. Josh had not one, but two accounts registered on the site, and he admitted it all in a statement on August 20, blaming an addiction to porn. He headed to a Christian rehab facility to deal with his problems afterward, but things have been rocky with his family ever since, as this clip clearly shows!
