Wicka wicka, WHAT?! Michelle Obama can rap. Yep — the First Lady of the United States laid it down in a new video to promote college education. Watch the swaggy video here!
It’s official. Michelle Obama, 51, can do it all. She’s best known for being oh, you know, the wife of President Barack Obama, 54, but now, she has proven that she can spit some serious game too. The First Lady lays it down in a new video with Saturday Night Live star Jay Pharoah, while promoting college education. Powered by College Humor, the video features an always classy Michelle and Jay on the lawn and inside the White House, rapping about why high school seniors should go to college. Watch!
In an attempt to spread awareness on the Better Make Room campaign, which was launched on behalf of the Reach Higher initiative, the video gives Michelle some serious pop culture points. In a statement directly from the Office of The First Lady, Michelle hopes to “inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university.” How inspiring!
FLOTUS — on the track — raps, “And everyone could really make their dream true / Hey kid, listenin’ in Michigan, that could be you.” She’s a driving force behind the campaign and is clearly dedicated to spreading awareness! This sure proved it. Who DOESN’T want to see the First Lady throwing down a beat?!
Michelle and Barack have been known to be pretty up on current trends. Michelle told People she couldn’t get enough of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk”, and Barack even fancies some Kendrick Lamar. We’d love to boogie with Michelle to the Bruno classic! HollywoodLifers, do you totally love the video?! Let us know your thoughts!
