Celine Dion has one of the most incredible voices in the world, and made Michael Buble’s Christmas In Hollywood one of the most incredible nights of the holiday season! Celine slayed not one, but TWO Christmas favorites!
Was there ever any doubt that Celine Dion wouldn’t put on an immaculate performance for one of the most important musical nights of the holiday season? For the fifth annual Michael Buble‘s Christmas in Hollywood special, she helped her pal out by singing “O Holy Night,” leaving the audience — including us — in tears. And that wasn’t even all; Celine and Michael did a gorgeous duet of “Happy Xmas (War is Over), too!
For the first performance, Celine was a vision in a sleek white gown, gently and warmly backlit against soaring stage lights — an absolute angel. Her voice was just as incredible as always, making this a soaring, unforgettable rendition of the classic Christmas standard, “O Holy Night.” We were positively enraptured by her performance.
Of course, Celine has always had an otherworldly voice, and it just makes sense that she would sing “O Holy Night.” Celine has actually featured the song on her own Christmas album, These Are Special Times, which was released in 1992. We were keeping our fingers crossed that we’d hear even more from her, knowing how amazing that album is!
And she delivered! She joined Michael once more later in the show for a special duet of John Lennon and Yoko Ono‘s classic “Happy Xmas (War is Over).” It was a stunning rendition that left us floored — and we’re sure you were, too! Michael’s entire Christmas special is always such a beautiful night to behold, and including Celine in this year’s lineup was definitely the right choice.
Celine was just in the news for a performance held for a very different reason. At the American Music Awards on November 22, Celine gave a heartbreaking performance of French singer Edith Piaf‘s “Hymne a L’Amour” to pay tribute to the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks on November 13. Backed by an image of the Eiffel Tower, it was a commanding and emotional performance that captivated the audience. She’s so incredible!
