Marc Jacobs Beauty has a new muse and the brand’s face might surprise you. Actress Winona Ryder, who made headlines nearly 14 years ago for stealing one of the designer’s sweaters just made her campaign debut. Get the details on her campaign look and let us know what you think!
Winona Ryder, 44, just landed a new role as the face of designer Marc Jacobs‘ beauty line. The actress (and designer’s friend) wore a retro ’60s inspired beauty look for her campaign debut with winged eyeliner and a nude lip. Find out how to recreate her beauty look, below.
Makeup artist Diane Kendal created Winona’s campaign look, which was inspired by actress Delphine Seyrig in the 1961 film, Last Year At Marienbad. While the products Diane used are from the designer’s upcoming spring 2016 line, you can still copy the look by creating a thin, long-winged cat eye with Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Blacquer. For her nude lip, use Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Moody Margot.
It seems that Marc doesn’t hold a grudge, since his announcement of Winona as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty comes nearly 14 years after the actress was arrested for shoplifting over $5,000 worth of stolen designer goods. Included in the items she stole was a $760 sweater by Marc Jacobs, making it a bit of a surprise that she would be the designer’s first choice.

Marc shared Winona’s campaign image to his Instagram, including in his caption: “It is with great pride (and pleasure) that I ‘leak’ this image from our upcoming 2016 MARC JACOBS BEAUTY campaign. Photographed here by David Sims and styled by Katie @kegrand, it stars my dear friend (of over two and a half decades), the stunningly beautiful and extraordinarily talented, Winona Ryder.”
