It will be all or nothing when Ronda Rousey steps back into the UFC Octagon. Either Ronda leaves her rematch with Holly Holm as the new Women’s Bantamweight Champion or she’ll walk away from MMA completely and hang up her gloves for good!
Nobody better dare accuse Ronda Rousey, 28, of not taking her loss to Holly Holm, 34, seriously. In fact, Ronda sees her rematch with the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion as a matter of life or death. If Ronda doesn’t reclaim her title, that may be it for her career!
“I guess it’s all going to be determined by what happens in the rematch,” Ronda told ESPN Magazine in an in depth interview. As Ronda recovers from her pride-shattering loss to Holly, the former undefeated fighter is unsure what will happen if she loses again. “Everything is going to be determined by that. Either I’ll win and keep going or I won’t and I’ll be done with everything.”
Wow. As if the stakes weren’t already high for what may be the biggest match in MMA history, this could be the very last match for Ronda! No way! It sort of makes sense. Ronda is “really f*cking sad” over her loss and she would be emotionally wrecked if she suffered a second defeat. Plenty of Ronda’s haters — from Laila Ali to Donald Trump to even Lady Gaga — would love to see her leave MMA forever. However, Ronda will just use this hate to fuel her comeback, and hopefully, her victory!
When fight fans will get to see that comeback is still in question. UFC President Dana White announced that Ronda would face Holly again, which was a no brainer. There are hopes that Ronda will be up to fighting at UFC 200 in July 2016, but that may be too soon.
Ronda’s suspended from fighting for six months after suffering a devastating blow to the head. Not to mention, some of her teeth are still wiggling loose in her mouth. She won’t even be able to chomp on an apple until the start of 2016, let alone take another shot from the “best striker in MMA.”
Ronda really took a pounding in that fight. When she returned to Los Angeles, she hid her face because it was still badly beaten. Ronda swore she would lay low and keep out of sight until she looked better. She was finally seen in public with her boyfriend, Travis Browne, walking her pet pit bull. While Ronda was all smiles, underneath that happy expression was Ronda’s burning desire to get back in the ring and reclaim her championship.
What do you think about Ronda possibly retiring if she loses her rematch, HollywoodLifers? Do you think she’ll actually do it? Or will she win?
