Donald Trump released a harsh and unprecedented statement on Dec. 7, demanding that the U.S. ban all Muslim people from entering it’s borders. Politicians and citizens alike are shocked and appalled by the suggestion, here’s what he said.
Donald Trump, 69, upset citizens and politicians of America on Dec. 7 when he demanded that we close our borders to all Muslim people. The shocking statement came as a response to the San Bernardino shootings on Dec. 2, which he believes can only be stopped by banning all Muslims. See what else he said, here.
Luckily, Donald isn’t currently the President of the United States, because if he was, he would be closing our borders to all Muslims – even American citizens outside of the country! That’s what he said in a statement released on Dec. 7 that has people freaking out. “It is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension,” said Trump about Muslim peoples’ attitude toward America. “Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine.”
The statement may sound more like SNL’s satirical representation of Donald than an actual plan, but he’s for real. “Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” he continued. No presidential candidate has ever demanded a measure so drastic as part of their campaign, and Donald’s fellow candidates are calling him out.
Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to condemn Donald’s idea, saying “This is reprehensible, prejudiced and divisive. @RealDonaldTrump, you don’t get it. This makes us less safe.” It isn’t just the Democrats that are appalled by Donald’s stance. Even other Republican candidates are saying this is ridiculous. Jeb Bush shared his disbelief as well: “Donald Trump is unhinged. His “policy” proposals are not serious.” Donald’s statement comes on the tails of President Barack Obama’scall for brotherhood between all religions in the wake of the San Bernardino shootings on Dec. 2. We hope most people will agree with that approach more.
