Yikes. Rick Ross just dropped a new album and on one track, called ‘Free Enterprise,’ he literally raps about assassinating Donald Trump. Hear the shocking lyric.
Does Rick Ross, 39, want to assassinate Donald Trump, 69? The rapper released his new album, Black Market, on Dec. 4, and one song– one lyric– has everyone talking. Specifically, Rick raps in “Free Enterprise” that he wants to “assassinate Trump.” Listen to the song inside and hear for yourself.
“Assassinate Trump like I’m Zimmerman/Now accept these words as they came from Eminem,” the intense song goes. Stream the song HERE with Amazon Prime music instantly — try it free.
The lyric is seriously virulent, considering what it actually means. “Zimmerman” is an allusion to George Zimmerman, a Florida man famous for shooting and killing a black teenager, Trayvon Martin, despite the fact that he was unarmed (he was later acquitted of all murder charges).
So, the fact that Rick says that he wants to pull a “Zimmerman” on Trump is, frankly, a little disturbing. There’s an added layer of irony to the song as well, though. John Legend is also featured on the track, another person who has beef with Mr. Trump– but for a different kind of reason. John is not a fan of the Donald in solidarity with his wife, Chrissy Teigen, 30.
When Chrissy tweeted a nasty little comment in response to one of Trump’s (dumb) tweets on Nov. 30, a fellow Twitter user called Chrissy “trashy,” and compared her (unfavorably) to Donald’s wife, Melania Trump, 45. Donald decided he liked the tweet enough to retweet it, leading Chrissy to unleash her own fury.
“lol poor melania doesn’t need to be dragged into this. She goes through enough already,” Chrissy tweeted in response. Yas, Chrissy, sick burn, girl.
What do you think of the “assassinate Trump” lyric? Should a blatant threat be so permissible in popular music?
