Miguel Angarita, a senior colorist at mizu New York salon, explains the different types of highlights for brown hair: “Foils are usually closer to the root, which creates brightness in the interior. While the foils are in, hair painting is done for brightness and contrast on ends. I also do a technique where, after all hair the painting and foils are rinsed out, the natural dark brown base is lightened. Two things are happening simultaneously — the brown is being made dark blonde and the Highlights are being toned which gives that caramel soft sun kissed buttery blonde with lots of tones creating a winter blonde. Remember, if you have cool skin go for warmth; caramel, honey, earth tones. And if you have warm skin tones, go for ashier, beige, more neutral — perfect for winter blonde.”
Her hair was styled in a deep side part, in romantic waves!
