The original ‘Survivor’ winner is trying to become ‘The Biggest Loser.’ That’s right, Richard Hatch is returning to reality TV. But instead out trying to outwit, outplay and outsmart the other contestants, he’s just hoping to lose the most weight!
Richard Hatch, 54, basically drew the blueprint for how all future Survivor contestants would lie, bargain and deal to win the $1 million prize back in 2000. His game play was masterful and now he’s hoping to bring his skill set to taking some much unwanted pounds off on NBC’s upcoming season of The Biggest Loser. This should be good!
Richard was famous for making his fellow Survivor contestants highly uncomfortable by constantly walking around naked. But those days are long behind him and he now weighs in at a staggering 314 pounds. He calls himself “old and fat” but shockingly admits he was perfectly content to stay that way. “Most fat people I know say they don’t want to be fat. That’s a lie,” he told People magazine. “If I didn’t want to be fat, I wouldn’t be fat. So, why do I want to be fat?”
He’s heading to the workout ranch to help figure out the answer to that question, saying “I want to know why, so I can see if there is something I can do about wanting something different – something better.” We have a feeling with Richard’s game playing spirit, he could really drop some weight after his naturally competitive skill set kicks in. While he claims not to have a target weight he’s aiming for, he is doing the show to become a healthier person. “I know I’m not healthy. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol,” he added. “So, it’s not about being able to lift this or do that. It’s, ‘Is my blood pressure low again? Is my cholesterol level right?’ That’s where I’m headed now.” Good luck on your journey on Season 17 of The Biggest Loser Richard!
