It’s finally here! We’re getting our first look at the all-star cast of ‘American Crime Story: The People v. O.J.Simpson’ and it looks to be must-see TV! After watching the first trailer we’re already excited for more.
Ryan Muphy‘s American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is getting closer to its Feb. 2 debut on FX and it looks just as wickedly dramatic as the real life case did! Ryan rounded up an amazing cast that includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J; John Travolta as his attorney Robert Shapiro and even Selma Blair looking every bit the part as then Kris Kardashian (now Jenner). This 10 episodes series looks like it’s going to be pretty juicy!
We get to see the trial of the century unfold from the viewpoints of all the key players in the case. It opens with Sarah Paulson playing prosecutor Marcia Clark getting the initial call about the murders, saying in disbelief “nobody gets killed in Brentwood,” followed by Cuba in the back seat of the White Ford Bronco during the infamous police pursuit after O.J. Simpson failed to turn himself in to authorities. It even includes the cheering crowds that actually did gather on freeway overpasses as the chase itself unfolded on June 17, 1994.
John goes all out as lawyer Robert, as he vows to make the case all about race. His hair and makeup job is flawless in his portrayal of the man who helped get O.J acquitted. Courtney B. Vance plays Robert’s co-counsel Johnnie Cochran, who at the trial gave the jury the famous “if the glove don’t fit, you must acquit” line, and he’s a dead ringer for the late lawyer. We are loving Selma as Kris, who at the time was married to one of O.J.’s lawyers, the late Robert Kardashian played by David Schwimmer and was a close friend of victim Nicole Brown Simpson. She deliciously delivers the line “do you think he did it?” at Nicole’s funeral to Connie Britton, who plays Nicole’s best pal Faye Resnick and replies, “She was terrified of him!” Yikes. David tells Selma “he’s my friend, I don’t turn my back on people” regarding the Juice to which she responds, “You’re turning your back on Nicole!” Man, we forgot how deep the Kardashians were involved in O.J. and Nicole’s lives and this trailer sure brings back all those memories!
