Pharrell Williams does NOT deserve to have another artist on his team go home on this week’s ‘Voice’ results show! As the final singer representing Team Pharrell, Madi Davis did everything she had to do to earn America’s votes, and she better be rewarded with a spot in the Top 9.
Madi Davis is the last artist standing for Team Pharrell on The Voice, and there’s no reason it shouldn’t stay that way after the Dec. 1 episode. The 16-year-old totally proved why she belongs to be in the Top 9 with her rendition of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and the voters will definitely have made the WRONG choice if they don’t push her through.
Poor Pharrell. Unlike fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Adam Levine, who each have all three of their live show artists left in the competition, the “Happy” singer is left with just one since Mark Hood and Evan McKeel’s eliminations. But Madi gave one of the best performances of the night on the Nov. 30 live show, and America would truly be making a mistake if they didn’t send votes her way.
At just 16 years old, Madi is mature well beyond her years, and she had the vocals to prove it. She made the classic Cyndi Lauper hit completely her own this week, but she did it effortlessly and in a way that didn’t sound forced. Singers often try to put a unique spin on beloved songs while performing on The Voice, but in nine seasons, I have yet to see someone do it in a way that seemed as natural as Madi was able to do.
Is Madi going to win this whole show? Honestly…probably not. There’s just too many incredible singers left in the competition, and I’ll admit that I have other favorites. But after what she did last night, she definitely deserves to move on and have at least one more chance to show off what she can do.
Only one contestant will go home during tonight’s episode, meaning there will still be nine remaining to perform during the Semifinals — which is SO crazy! Normally, at this point, there would only be five singers left, with four advancing to the finale, but this year, instead, there will be FIVE eliminations in the penultimate episode. Things are going to get wild…so get ready to vote for your favorites!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Madi has what it takes to win The Voice?
