Who’s moving onto the Semifinals on Season 9 of ‘The Voice’?! We got our answer on the Dec. 1 episode, when [SPOILER] was eliminated, leaving nine artists remaining to duke it out for a spot in the Finals. Read our full recap to find out who went home!
And nine remain. The singers gave their best performances yet on the Nov. 30 episode of The Voice, but Dec. 1 brought another tough elimination, as one more contestant was sent packing. Find out if it was Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell or Blake Shelton who lost a team member on tonight’s episode right here!
Coach Adam helped kick off the night by performing his hit “Locked Away” with R. City, but it was immediately time to get into some results right after that. With seven of the ten artists having songs in the Top 10 of the iTunes single charts, the competition was clearly pretty darn close, and Emily Ann Roberts from Team Blake, along with Adam’s Jordan Smith, were the first to be announced safe.
After a quick commercial break and chat with the coaches, host Carson Daly revealed it was time for more results, and he announced the next two singers moving on: Team Gwen’s Jeffery Austin and Blake’s Barrett Baber. That left only six, including Pharrell’s one and only remaining team member, waiting to hear their fate.
And it wasn’t long before they would learn the next two advancing! Pharrell was able to breath a MAJOR sigh of relief when it was revealed that his final contestant, Madi Davis, was voted back to perform next week, keeping him in the competition, and Adam was able to keep another artist, Amy Vachal, around for another go. Just four left at this point — one from team Blake, one from team Adam and two from team Gwen — and the tensions were high!
After an amazing performance by Sia, the final two contestants voted through by America were Blake’s Zach Seabaugh and Shelby Brown from Team Adam, meaning both veteran coaches have all three of their singers in the Semifinals. Unfortunately, for Gwen, that meant two singers, Braiden Sunshine and Korin Bukowski, would have to sing for the Instant Save, and she’d automatically lose one.
Of course, Korin was no stranger to this portion of the show — she was saved the last two weeks — and even though she had a brief slip-up forgetting the words this week, she totally held her own. Braiden had his chance next, and did what he did best while singing Maroon 5’s “Harder To Breathe” and it was SO amazing and fun. The viewers had five minutes to vote for who they wanted to save on Twitter…and Braiden will be moving on! That leaves Pharrell with one artist, Gwen with two and Adam and Blake each with three.
So, there you have it — your Season 9 Top 9! What’s crazy though is that next week, the group of remaining artists will be cut from nine to FOUR. Yup, not even half the group will make it through the Semifinals, so things are going to get SUPER intense during the Dec. 7 performances. Make sure you tune in!
