Miranda Lambert may be moving on with her life, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s ready for love again. The country crooner reveals in a new interview that love is ‘not on her radar’ these days, as she’s just now wrapping her head around her divorce!
While her ex-husband Blake Shelton, 39, has wasted no time moving on with his new lady love, Gwen Stefani, it appears Miranda Lambert, 32, isn’t quite as keen on the idea of love following the couple’s shocking split. In a new interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, the country singer opened up about life after divorce, admitting that marriage is “not on my radar.” Get the full details below!
“We were together for 10 years, married for four, were very quickly divorced, and are friends,” Miranda said about Blake during her interview in Cosmopolitan’s Dec. 9 issue. “I’m still processing everything and figuring out where to go and what happened. [Marriage is] a tough business, and we gave it our best college try … If I ever were to get married again — which is completely not on my radar at all right now — I feel like it’s not about it being a step in life. It’s not about a piece of paper or a diamond. It’s the way you feel about somebody and the commitment in your heart.”
Miranda Lambert On Blake Shelton Divorce: Nobody Has To ‘Pick A Side’
While the “Bathroom Sink” singer is still figuring things out, Blake is enjoying his new relationship with Gwen. The two Voice judges can’t stop smiling or Facetiming each other for that matter. They even commute to The Voice together! Still, though it may seem that Blake is moving on a little too fast from Miranda, his ex admitted that she wants fans to be supportive of both of them. “Nobody [has to] pick a side — because there ain’t a side,” she told the magazine. Supportive though she may be, Miranda is the first to admit that divorce sucks. “Some of (my next steps) might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, ‘Man, this sucks right now,’” she told the magazine. Thankfully, she has found a silver lining beneath all of her pain and sadness. “I had a great relationship with an amazing man, so I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted.” Keep you head up, Miranda!
