Scott is scheduled to appear at 1OAK in Las Vegas on Dec. 31, but if Scott wants to stay clean and sober, he better cancel. “Newly sober Scott absolutely should not be hosting a New Year’s eve party in Las Vegas,” addiction expert Steven Ornstein EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. “In fact, he should not be participating in anything alcohol related as he just got out of rehab for alcohol addiction.”

This seems like a no-brainer. Being around all that alcohol while fresh out of rehab may be too tempting for Scott. But, he does have to make a living. “His sobriety should be his number one priority right now,” adds Steven. “And if this means finding a new line of work, so be it.”

Scott might think he’s strong enough to handle this challenge. After all, he and Kourtney Kardashian reunited for a lunch date and it could have made him feel like he was on top of the world. And though Scott will surround himself by champagne, Patron and other alcoholic drinks during the booziest holiday in the year, Kourtney’s actually okay with Scott taking this job.

“She wants him to do his allotted two hours at the club and have his mandatory dinner at Stack,” a source close to Kourtney EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. “Then she wants him to leave.” This is a test to see how committed Scott is to staying sober, and if he passes this test, then there’s a greater chance he might spend 2016 with her and their children.

Steven is not a fan of this plan. “If [Kourtney] thinks it’s okay for Scott to be hosting a party in Las Vegas, than she herself is in denial about the severity of his illness,” he tells HollywoodLife.com. Still, this might be too hard of a test for Scott, who has been in and out of rehab.

Instead of partying in Las Vegas, Steven recommends Scott fill his calendar with different kinds of appointments. “He should be attending AA meeting on a regular basis,” Steven tells HollywoodLife.com, “and [be] working with an AA sponsor.”

What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Should Scott be hosting the NYE bash, or do you think it’s far too soon for him to be around so much alcohol?
