Karrueche Tran was definitely an inspiration for Chris Brown’s ‘Before The Party’ mixtape, and one sad song in particular seems to really be about the relationship. In ‘The Breakup,’ he sings about a romance gone wrong, and even admits he knows it was his fault. Listen here!
Are you listening Karrueche Tran?! Chris Brown is finally coming clean about everything that went wrong in his relationship with the 27-year-old in the song “The Breakup” on his new mixtape Before The Party, and it’s totally sad. Unfortunately, he also admits that he just isn’t strong enough to meet in the middle and compromise to make things work. Check out the lyrics and listen to the song here!
In case you forgot, Chris and Kae finally ended their relationship at the beginning of 2015 when it was revealed that he had cheated on her with Nia Guzman and fathered a daughter, Royalty. In “The Breakup,” he sings about a love gone wrong, and even reveals from the very beginning that his “mile long” list of “mistakes” and “wrongs,” including going out and “acting wild,” is what contributed to the split.
The second verse is most telling, though, as Breezy admits to “f***ing up” when it came to trust in the relationship, although he also made it clear that his ex played a hand in being shady when it came to honesty, as well. Perhaps the most shocking line, though, is when he sadly confesses he was forced to choose between Kae and Royalty, and having to do so made him feel “sick.”
In the third and final verse, Chris brings everything together by admitting he “put us in this predicament” and saying he misses his girl and wants her back. Unfortunately, it’s just too late, and as he sings in the chorus, he just doesn’t have the heart to give up his daughter to meet Karrueche halfway. Check out all the lyrics and listen to “The Breakup” below, and if you haven’t gotten your fill on Chris just yet,
