OH MY GOD PUPPIES! The 2015 National Dog Show is just around the corner, and before you watch the nation’s top pooches go for gold, get to know this year’s breeds! We’ve got pics (you are welcome).
The 2015 National Dog Show is going to be the most intense yet– and by intense, we of course mean adorable. The big show, which airs on NBC on Thanksgiving Day at noon, will feature both new and returning breeds, who have traveled from far and wide to prove that they are truly the best in show. We’ve got pics of all the pups who should be on your radar when you watch the big show– before your turkey-coma sets in! Check ’em out!
Let’s start with the classics: the bloodhound. Last year’s winner, Nathan, was of this iconic breed, meaning it is definitely one to look out for heading into this year’s show.
A newcomer breed this year will be the Berger Picard– one of seven new breeds, actually– a scrappy pooch known for a propensity for farm work. And being beyond freaking cute, of course. Another new breed will be the Lagotto Romagnolo, with roots in ancient Italy– and fluffy preciousness.
Returning this year will be the longstanding contender, the beagle, heading into the competition with a vengeance, and the mushiest of mushy faces. Another seriously fierce competitor will be the Scottish terrier, who will be particularly daunting as this is the breed who won top honors at the world’s biggest dog competition, Crufts, earlier this year.
