Talk about a remix! Adele joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots for a special performance of ‘Hello’ using only children’s toys, and it was perfect. Click inside to watch!
Adele, 27, just collaborated with late night television’s finest, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, 41. In this cool new video, the British singer and her comedian friend teamed up with The Roots to put a little spin on her hit song, “Hello.”
Adele? Check. Flip phone? Check. Jimmy Fallon and The Roots? Double check! All three performers (and a toy flip phone) joined forces to sing an impromptu performance of “Hello” in one of The Tonight Show dressing rooms, and here’s the twist: they used nothing but kindergarten toys and musical instruments!
What made this performance so awesome is that it gave Adele’s heartbreaking ballad a totally new sound, with The Roots using their toys and instruments to pick up the tempo just a notch or two. Plus, they offered Adele some back up vocal support just as the song came into it’s home stretch. So cool!
Oh, and let’s not forget to mention the part where Adele spots a tiny toy flip phone on the table in front of her and uses it as a prop. It was like a scene right out of her music video for “Hello,” with the obvious exception that the toy phone was, well, a bright green toy. Ha!
Those of you who watch The Tonight Show frequently know that this dressing room/kindergarten toy skit is something he loves to do with performers when they come to visit. Just another amazing part of his version of the iconic late night television talk show!
