We knew Gwen Stefani’s performance at the 2015 American Music Awards was going to be amazing, and emotional, but we didn’t expect something like this. Gwen stunned with a gorgeous rendition of ‘Used To Love You,’ and brought us all to tears!
Everyone says music can move you — and Gwen Stefani proved just that with her AMA performance of “Used to Love You.” She was getting a little shaky and even tearing up during the performance on Nov. 22 , and we have to say it was much more emotional that we even imagined. She looked absolutely stunning of course, and obviously sounded better than ever.
It’s beautiful to see a victory for Gwen, especially after the year she’s had — the one that inspired “Used To Love You.” The song is a heartbreaking ballad about her failed marriage to Gavin Rossdale, her husband of 13 years from whom she got divorced in August 2015. Gavin allegedly cheated on her with their nanny, and pulled her entire world apart. She “used to love him,” and thought he was a completely different person, until he proved her wrong. Poor Gwen! But there was a silver lining to this tragic event; her soulful performance of her new hit!
While her new man, Blake Shelton, was not there, we know that she’s hard quite an emotional journey getting over her hubby, especially since the rumors have surfaced that her ex-nanny had an affair with Gavin. “When Gwen rehearsed, she couldn’t get through the song,” an eyewitness told HollywoodLife.com exclusively before the performance. “She broke down and started crying. She then apologized and took a moment and performed the song for a second time. It was very emotional for her.”
