Best friends for life! Jimmy Fallon ran into his pal Justin Bieber at 30 Rock, and they greeted each other with the world’s most elaborate handshake. Can they spare some time from their busy schedules to teach us?
They seem like unlikely friends, but Jimmy Fallon and Justin Bieber are pretty tight. When the two saw each other in the hallway at Rockefeller Center on November 17, they of course had to greet each other with their (now not-so) secret handshake. It’s the most insane, intricate greeting we’ve ever seen! Click through to watch them do their thing!
Our handshakes usually don’t last a minute and a half, but they’re not as elaborate as this! The buddies start out with your run of the mill handshake and fist bump dealio, but amp it up to an incredible routine that includes screams, Mortal Kombat references and StreetFighter finger battles, elbow grabs, full body twists, and butt taps. Those are figurative and literal butt taps, we might mention. You’ve got to see this! !
We’re simply in awe of how they managed to learn this routine, and master it so perfectly. How many takes must have it been before they could get this down without laughing? The part where they both pretended to barf, then tell each other with completely straight faces, “I’m okay,” must have been especially difficult. Following it up with pretending to make popcorn, then saying “hey” in increasingly” weird voices was hilarious.
This was all a bit for Justin’s appearance on The Tonight Show, of course. Justin appeared on the November 17 episode of the talk show to promote his new album, Purpose — and win a huge car race! He took part in a funny pre-taped segment called “The Tonight Show 500,” which pitted him against Jimmy, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and a slew of other stars in a Nascar-style drag race. The winner? Justin! He also rocked the house with a performance of “Sorry.” Good show!
HollywoodLifers, do you think you’ll be able to learn Jimmy and Justin’s handshake? Tell us in the comments!
