Look out David Beckham — Brooklyn Beckham is ready to take your place! The soccer star’s son couldn’t believe that his dad was named the Sexiest Man Alive, and had an idea: HE should have taken home the trophy instead!
There was at least one person who didn’t think David Beckham, 40, deserved to be named People magazine’s annual Sexiest Man Alive: his own son, Brooklyn Beckham, 16! When he found out that his dear old dad was named at the 30th anniversary honoree, he had just one question: was he sure they didn’t make a mistake when choosing David over him?
PEOPLE had to ask: what did David’s family think about his award? “I would hope that [wife Victoria Beckham] feels that way about me all the time anyway, but she said ‘Congratulations!'” David told People. “We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed and said ‘Really? Sexiest Man Alive? Really?’ My oldest son, Brooklyn, was the one who was like, ‘Are you sure it’s not me that’s meant to be there today?'”
Way to throw shade at your dad, kid! His remarks were all in good fun, because, let’s be honest, nobody’s going to feel comfortable with people thinking their dad is sexy! Kinda gives you the heebie-jeebies, right? Like any 16-year-old, Brooklyn’s got his beefs with David. We certainly don’t;
Victoria told the mag, “When I found out David was the Sexiest Man Alive, I was very proud of him. What the kids are going to think is another thing. When David takes Brooklyn to school, Brooklyn makes him drop him down the street, because he thinks it’s embarrassing. I’m like, ‘if you’re embarrassed by your dad, and he’s David Beckham, what chance does any other father at the school have?'”
HollywoodLifers, do you think Brooklyn should have been the Sexiest Man Alive? Tell us in the comments!
