Well, this is a surprise! Even after brutally defeating Ronda Rousey, fighter Holly Holm thinks the people trashing her opponent really need to back off.
Holly Holm, 34, has a message for all of the people — including celebrities — who have been talking smack about the recently defeated Ronda Rousey, 28: put up or shut up! That’s right, the woman who took down the undefeated champion is now coming to her defense against the naysayers.
“I think people can be pretty brutal,” Holly told TMZ Sports during a call-in interview, referring to the fact that many people have been lashing out at her opponent, Ronda Rousey, after her hard loss on Saturday night, Nov. 14. It’s surprising to hear Holly defend her rival, especially after Ronda called her a “fake humility b–ch,” but shows incredibly good sportsmanship on her behalf.
“When you’re in the spot she’s in, there are people that are just going to jump ship and I don’t ever wish for that,” Holly also said, continuing to defend Ronda. For those of you who might have missed the insane about of shade people have been throwing at Ronda since her loss, you can check some of it out HERE.
Among those tearing Ronda apart are presidential candidate Donald Trump who said she’s “not a nice person.” Even Lady Gaga chimed in on Ronda’s loss, saying “that’s what you get” on social media. Ouch.
However, Holly wants everyone to back off of Ronda as she deals with her first major loss in the ring. “I have a lot of respect for her,” Holly also said during her interview, which will hopefully cheer Ronda up a bit. However, who knows what will go down when Holly and Ronda face-off for a rematch!
