The cat is out of the bag. Charlie Sheen certainly shocked fans when he announced major news on ‘The Today Show’ that he’s HIV-positive. He claims he hasn’t hid his diagnosis from any of his sexual partners, but when it comes to telling his children — that’s a different story.
Charlie Sheen has confirmed that he is in fact, HIV-positive. The 50-year-old actor gave a very revealing interview on Nov. 17 to Matt Lauer on The Today Show. He admitted he has the immune deficiency disease and that he has lived in secrecy by paying millions of dollars to cover it up, but do his five children know?
It’s all that everyone is talking about, Charlie revealing the simple statement, “I’m here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive.” He went on to tell Matt that, “I have to put an end to these truths.” There was also one thing weighing on his mind, how does he break the scary news to his children? The actor admitted that “I told my oldest daughter [Cassandra Estevez, 30,]. It hit her hard.” Charlie went on to add, “I said, ‘I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, but it didn’t seem like you could do anything and I didn’t want to burden you with all the stress.’ But she was a rockstar about this.”
As for his twin sons Bob and Max, with ex-wife Brooke Mueller, 38, Charlie hasn’t told them. The scary thing that worried fans was, does that mean Brooke and the boys are HIV-positive as well? “Brooke has been inundated with calls from friends and family. To put their minds at ease, Brooke can confirm that she and the boys are not HIV-positive.” — her rep, Steve Honig tells HollywoodLife.com. As for his two girls with ex-wife Denise Richards, they also haven’t been made aware. Thankfully, their mom told Access Hollywood that neither she, nor Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, are infected with the disease.
The news first broken by The National Enquirer and RadarOnline.com when they claimed that Charlie had a “long history” of sleeping with porn stars and strippers. They also alleged that he slept with over 5,000 women and had continued to sleep with women despite knowing he was affected.
