Kim Kardashian has revealed that she may need a hysterectomy following the birth of her second child. In a super vulnerable post on her website, Kim herself shared the devastating– and scary– news.
“I might need a hysterectomy after delivery,” Kim Kardashian, 35, bravely wrote on Nov. 16. Kim, who’s due in December, has been transparent about her pregnancy struggles, but now she is opening up about the dangers which lie ahead, including the possible removal of her uterus following the birth of her son. We have the scary details.
“My risk of having preclampsia and placenta acreeta are increased and there’s not a whole lot I can do to prevent it, so my anxiety is a little high leading up to my delivery,” Kim wrote on her website, kimkardashianwest.com. “In a very rare case, I might need a hysterectomy after delivery if my condition is severe enough,” she added.
Yikes! So upsetting. Luckily, Kim’s doctor has comforted her a bit, telling her that he doesn’t think it will happen. Beyond that, Kim is doing her best to keep a positive outlook, and her optimism is totally inspiring. “I have some days I get SO scared but then I speak to my doctor, Dr. Paul Crane, and he always calms me down,” Kim said. “He has been my doctor forever—he was my mom’s doctor who delivered me!”
Finally, Kim concluded the lengthy piece with words of strength to anyone out there who might be struggling with similar issues. “My advice to anyone going through this or anything difficult during pregnancy is that all you can do is be hopeful, get the best information out there and just be prepared,” she wrote. “The more information you have, the better you know how to handle it!”
So amazing to see Kim stay so strong. We are praying for her safe and easy birth!
