The Nov. 16 episode of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ will be an emotional one for Bindi Irwin. Just one day before, Bindi and countless other fans celebrated ‘Steve Irwin Day,’ in honor of her late father. Read Bindi’s heartfelt message to her dad now.
When Steve Irwin died in 2006, the world was devastated. Steve’s daughter, Bindi Irwin, 17, paid tribute to her late father on Nov. 15 for “Steve Irwin Day.” The Dancing With the Stars cutie thanked her father for all he did for the world and vows to continue his legacy.
“The greatest Dad on Earth. November 15. Steve Irwin Day. Remembering everything Dad worked so hard to achieve and continuing his legacy. We miss you so much and are extremely proud to be carrying on in your footsteps. Yesterday we celebrated #SteveIrwinDay in Australia. Today, let’s celebrate together on the other side of the world, today on November 15. Thank you for joining us in making a difference. Wearing our khakis and remember everything Dad did to change the world,” Bindi wrote on Instagram on Nov. 15. She also included a touching photo of Steve doing what he did best — catching crocodiles.
Aw! This is too sweet. It’s been almost 10 years since Steve’s death, and Bindi is keeping his memory alive. Bindi’s partner, Derek Hough, also posted a sweet Instagram photo of Bindi and her dad on the special day.
Bindi recently ran into trouble during her race for the mirror ball on Dancing With The Stars. Since Bindi is still a minor, her contract is a bit more complicated. Both of her parents need to sign off on a form that states that they have no right to any money she makes on the show. Her mother signed, but a judge was determined to receive proof that Bindi’s dad was really dead, even though everyone knows Steve died in 2006.
Bindi has made it into the final rounds of Dancing With the Stars, and all she hopes for is that her dad would be proud of what she’s accomplished. Well, if Bindi wins this season of DWTS, that is a guarantee, Bindi!
