Jennifer Lawrence detailed the heartbreaking story of how she found out about the nude photo leak of 2014, a devastating event that rocked her world, along with so many other female celebrities. Knowing that her photos were on the internet without her permission was so painful!
As if it weren’t terrible enough that Jennifer Lawrence, 25, was the victim of unwilling release of her nude photos, she found out about the disgusting event while picking out a new puppy! Jennifer, in an interview with Vogue‘s December 2015 issue, detailed one of the worst days of her life, when she discovered that hackers had stolen nude photos from her iCloud account and posted them on the internet. It was a heartbreaking episode that profoundly affected the actress.
Vogue‘s interviewer Jonathan Van Meter wasn’t aware what he was in for when he asked Jennifer to tell him the story of she got her adorable little dog, Pippi. Jennifer and her mom were playing with a new puppy, trying to decide if she should bring her home, when the news that photos of her naked had been plastered across the internet without her permission. Yikes.
“I was outside crying, and Pippi jumped up on my lap and started licking up all my tears, and I couldn’t put her down for hours. And I mean, hours. I was like, ‘Well, obviously, you’re mine.’” Jennifer told Vogue. “It was all pain and no gain. But I don’t dwell on it unless someone brings it up. Have you seen me naked?”
Poor Jennifer! The nude scandal of 2014, dubbed “The Fappening” by some (gross), did not just affect Jennifer, but over 100 other female celebrities, including Kate Upton and Emily Ratajkowski. These women had their iCloud accounts breached by hackers, who posted nearly 500 photos across userboard 4Chan. Jennifer called the breach of privacy a “sex crime” and a “sexual violation. She told Vanity Fair‘s October 2014 issue, “Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame.”
