Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are making sweet music together in more ways than one! After helping each other through their respective breakups, apparently Blake offered more than support. He gave Gwen inspiration for her new music!
When Gwen Stefani, 46, began putting together her upcoming album, she was certainly going through some heartbreak as she was in the middle of a divorce from Gavin Rossdale, 50. Her fellow Voice coach — and now boyfriend — Blake Shelton, 39, was there to support her, which allowed for Gwen to put together an album without completely breaking down. But we may just be hearing some country influence in Gwen’s new material, and that’s all because of Blake!
Both Blake and Gwen happened to be going through divorces as filming for The Voice started up again, so they found solace in each other. Before they began dating, a source told Us Weekly that Blake’s comfort came in the form of heartfelt words as well as his genre of music! “He’d play her country songs, and he was a sounding board for her music,” said the source. Sounds like Gwen’s new stuff could have a little more twang to it!
Even if Gwen never imagined that country would influence her material, her excitement about Blake apparently took over! She even gushed about how much Blake impacted her post-breakup process. “He’s a pretty rad guy, I have to say that,” Gwen told Dallas/Fort Worth radio station 103.7 KVIL. “There’s definitely key people that have pointed me into the right direction. Blake really helped me.”Aww, Blake must have been quite the supporter — no wonder he inspired Gwen’s music too!
Gwen has already released a heartbreaking single titled, “Used To Love You,” that is clearly about her relationship with Gavin. Although it is a pretty vulnerable tune, we’ll likely be seeing a little more spite in Gwen’s new stuff. A report broke on Nov. 11 that the cause of Gwen and Gavin’s divorce was his affair with their nanny, Mindy Mann. As much as this upset Gwen in a sad way, we’re sure she has some anger built up that she’ll want to express in song!
Then again, she’s reportedly so happy with Blake, he probably inspired her to write some happier tracks too! Whatever route Blake advised Gwen to take on her post-breakup album, we are certainly excited to hear it!
