In the pic, Sia stands between Cazzie and a friend, but the tables are turned as the young girls cover their faces with their long hair, while the singer smiles proudly for the camera. “Great hair tip from sia,” Cazzie captioned the picture, in which Sia rocks a high messy bun and bright red lipstick.
From red carpets to live performances, Sia has made a point to always wear a platinum blonde wig over the front of her face, and she opened up in a 2013 op-ed piece about why she’s decided to hide herself from the spotlight — it’s all about avoiding fame.
“If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous,” she wrote. “Imagine the stereotypical, highly opinionated, completely uninformed mother-in-law character and apply it to every teenager with a computer in the entire world. Then add in all bored people, as well as people whose job it is to report on celebrities. Then, picture that creature, that force, criticizing you for an hour straight, once a day, every day, day after day.”
After she gained major notoriety for her “Chandelier” music video, which starred Maddie Ziegler, rather than herself, Sia expanded on this explanation. “I don’t want to be famous or recognizable,” she explained. “I don’t want to be critiqued about the way I look on the Internet. I’ve been writing pop songs for pop stars now for a couple of years and I’ve become friends with them and see what their life is like and that’s not something I want.” We see you now, though, Sia!
HollywoodLifers, are you shocked Sia showed her face?!
