Whoa! Ben Carson has confessed to lying about getting a scholarship from West Point Academy, and now Donald Trump is putting him on blast for getting caught in the act.
Donald Trump, 69, has some harsh words for his fellow candidate, Dr. Ben Carson, 64, now that he’s admitted to lying about a part of his education not just once, but allegedly three times over the course of 2015. See what the Donald had to say below!
“WOW, one of many lies by Ben Carson! Big story,” presidential candidate Donald Trump wrote on Twitter on Friday, Nov. 6, after receiving a tweet to a story that reveals his opponent, Ben Carson, lied about being offered a scholarship to the West Point Academy. So awkward!
Unfortunately for Carson, the story reveals that he not only never applied for West Point, but he was definitely never invited to join the school with financial help, reports Politico. In fact, Ben’s own campaign manager released a statement to the outlet via email confirming their report, writing: “[Dr. Carson] was introduced to folks from West Point by his ROTC Supervisors. They told him they could help him get an appointment based on his grades and performance in ROTC. He considered it but in the end did not seek admission.”
Okay, that being said, can you really blame Trump for sounding off so publicly about the matter? Although Dr. Carson has definitely been giving Trump a run for his money, chances are very high that Americans would rather hire someone telling the truth to run their country rather than a well-known liar.
