Things are really starting to look up for Lamar Odom! The former NBA star is ‘slowly but surely’ making progress in his recovery. So much so in fact, that doctors now believe he could be transferred to a rehab center a lot sooner than inticipated, according to a new report.
Lamar Odom, 35, is continuing to make considerable gains following his tragic health crisis. The former NBA star is reportedly doing much better since being moved out of ICU on Oct. 29, and now doctors are saying he could be moved into a rehab center in just a matter of days!
“Lamar is doing better slowly but surely,” a source told Us Weekly. “He is still working with lots of therapists. Every day he is relearning how to do more with his motor skills. He is cognitively aware of everything but [it’s] hard to process a lot at once.”
While Lamar still has a long way to go in his recovery, he has made some significant strides since waking from his coma on Oct. 16. The source adds that the 35-year-old is now doing well enough that he may actually be relocated to a rehab center “next week, though it is not definite yet.”
This is such amazing news! Things have been touch-and-go since Lamar was first rushed to a Nevada hospital after being found unconscious in a legal brothel on Oct. 13. Since being transferred to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, Lamar working with “a great team of therapists and specialists,” all of whom are making sure he is getting stronger every single day. As a result, Lamar has been able to walk with some help, which is nothing short of a miracle. Additionally, Lamar is now also speaking in full sentences and according to a report by E! Online, “can swallow and eat food on his own.” And he’s been using his ability to talk to share some sweet words with Khloe Kardashian, 31, who has been by his side every step of the way. Lamar reportedly tells the reality star, “I love you” when he has enough energy to find his voice.
As HollywoodLife.com has previously reported, Khloe has been by Lamar’s side almost daily in the hospital and up until recently, was making his medical decisions. However, now that he’s preparing to leave the hospital, Lamar is “determined” to prove to Khloe that he can take care of himself without being a burden to her. “He promised her and himself that he’s ready to take responsibility for his life and that he will never cause her grief or pain again,” a source told HollywoodLife.com. “Lamar’s will to live is directly related to all the love Khloe’s been showering him with. From the top and bottom of his heart, he appreciates that woman.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think Khloe will have to continue taking care of Lamar even if he does move to a rehab center?
