Penny finally made her dreaded arrival at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on the Nov. 5 episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ and as expected, it wasn’t a pleasant experience for anyone involved. Plus, Richard’s relationship with Maggie evolved and April presented a case involving a boy from the Middle East.
Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) tragic death will always be an open wound that’ll never heal for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), and Penny’s arrival on the Nov. 5 episode of Grey’s Anatomy was equivalent to throwing salt in that wound and mushing it all around. And it didn’t help that Bailey (Chandra Wilson) assigned Penny to Meredith’s service.
Meredith initially tried to rise above the situation and work with Penny, but she eventually lost her cool and kicked Penny off her service. While Meredith thought she was just “teaching” Penny, Richard (James Pickens, Jr.), who actually knew about Penny’s history before approving her transfer to Grey Sloan Memorial, pointed out that her behavior was inappropriate and she was actually “hazing” Penny. So after their talk, and getting chastised by Callie (Sara Ramirez), Meredith decided to take the higher road and allow Penny to rejoin her service.
Meanwhile, one of Richard’s best friends brought his daughter to the hospital. And when Richard discovered his good friend has diabetes, they got into an argument about whether or not the daughter should know. The friend said Richard would never understand because he doesn’t have children. Initially, Richard agreed, but after realizing he hurt Maggie’s feelings, he admitted to his friend that he cheated on Adele and fathered a child. It was pretty awkward, but it certainly helped Maggie’s relationship with Richard evolve.
Furthermore, April (Sarah Drew) presented a case involving a boy from the Middle East. It seemed like an impossible case, but Sarah believed in Jackson (Jesse Williams) and he succeeded. Due to all the excitement, they seemed to be inching towards a reconciliation, but their intimate moment was cut short by the doctor April worked with in the Middle East. Great timing, buddy…
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Was Meredith too hard on Penny? Will April and Jackson stay married? Tell us how you feel!
