So scary. Four people at the University of California Merced were stabbed in a campus attack on Nov. 4. Despite the terrifying situation, the victims are conscious, and the suspect has already been shot dead.
Students and faculty at the University of California Merced in Merced, California experienced terror on campus on when a suspect stabbed four innocent victims in a vicious attack on Nov. 4. The attack happened around 8 am PST in front of the university’s Classroom and Office Building, according to a press release, and the suspect was fatally shot shortly after. Fortunately, all four victims — two students, one staff member, and one vendor — are conscious.
As soon as the stabbing occurred, UC Merced sent out an alert to warn students to stay away from the COB. While two of the victims were taken to a local hospital in a helicopter, the other two are receiving treatment on the school’s campus. The severity of their injuries have yet to be determined. Officials determined that the suspect was a UC Merced student, but his identity has not been released.
Although there is no longer any active danger in the area, campus is closed and in lockdown. Shortly following the incident, UC Merced officials announced that all classes have been canceled for the remainder of the day. Police have advised that people avoid going to the campus.
