Ouch. Just moments after his ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, wore a Chris Stapleton shirt on stage at the CMAs, Blake Shelton lost ‘Male Vocalist Of The Year’ to Chris Stapleton!
Blake Shelton, 39, lost Male Vocalist Of The Year at the CMA Awards on Nov. 4 in Nashville, Tennessee. Losing the award wasn’t as big of a deal as who he lost it to — Chris Stapleton! Just minutes before Chris beat Blake, Blake’s ex, Miranda Lambert, won Female Vocalist Of The Year and actually thanked Chris in her speech, which was totally a slight jab at her ex, right?!
It was such an awkward night for Blake and Miranda. They announced their separation in July of 2015. The couple started dating in 2006 and four years later in 2010, they got engaged. One year later in 2011, the couple tied the knot! But sadly, the couple only lasted 4 years as husband and wife.
HollywoodLife.com reported that their split was due to constant fighting and their careers driving them apart. “They would get into fights for the stupidest reasons and he enjoys things to be as drama free as possible. As the relationship and their careers grew, they grew apart. He really wanted to make it work, but he reached his limit and had to move on to make him feel better about himself,” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY.
Since their split, Blake has been living the single life and it turns out, he and fellow Voice judge Gwen Stefani have a little thing going on! “Blake loves playing the field in his recent single life,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. It has recently been confirmed that Blake is indeed dating Gwen! “Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating,” Gwen’s spokesperson, who would not comment further, told Us.
