Kara’s attempt to stop a ship from exploding went horribly wrong on the Nov. 2 episode of ‘Supergirl,’ and that totally killed her self esteem. But she was forced to put the doubts that she had about her abilities aside when a Kryptonian prisoner abducted her sister, Alex.
Kara (Melissa Benoist) may be Superman’s cousin, but she has a long way to go before mastering the same level of abilities he has, and that was proven on the Nov. 2 episode of Supergirl. When her attempt at stopping a ship from exploding resulted in a massive oil spill in the ocean, Kara was ridiculed for taking on more than she could chew. Unfortunately, any doubts she had about her abilities, which came about from the media, had to be put aside when Kara’s sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), got abducted by an escapee from the Kryptonian prison, Fort Rozz.
Kara and her sister’s secret agency came in contact with Hellgrammite (the escapee) when he was found trying to steal some sort of chemical from National City’s local plant. When they used that same chemical to lure him out, he got pissed off and abducted Alex. And it was there, in an abandoned warehouse, that Alex came face-to-face with Kara’s evil aunt (Laura Benanti), who expressed her interest in killing her niece and taking over Earth.
When Kara went on a desperate search to find and save her sister, she not only discovered that her aunt (also her mom’s twin) is alive, but they also came face-to-face for the first time in many, many years. Unfortunately, the reunion didn’t go so well. Kara’s aunt said she plans on wiping the Earth clean of the human species, and that’s when they got into a nasty battle of slamming each other through the concrete walls. But it wasn’t Supergirl who saved the day — it was Hank (David Harewood), who stuck a knife in Kara’s aunt’s arm. It didn’t kill her, but it crippled her long enough for them to get away safely. But, obviously, that won’t be the last time we see Kara’s evil aunt.
Furthermore, Cat (Calista Flockhart) pressured James (Mehcad Brooks) to use his connection to Superman to get her an interview with Supergirl. And while he didn’t want to put Kara in an uncomfortable position, she decided to do the interview. At the end of the episode, Kara met Cat on a rooftop for an exclusive interview. But if you want to find out what Supergirl told Cat, you’ll have to tune in next week!
