Olympic athlete Lolo Jones joined the controversial costume club by dressing up as injured basketball star Derrick Rose. Check out what some of Derrick’s fans are saying about her costume now!
Hot or not? Lolo Jones, 33, knows a thing or two about injuries, so dressing up as basketball star Derrick Rose, 27, for Halloween, isn’t a huge surprise. The track and field star dressed up as the injured Chicago Bulls player, and some fans think she was dissing Derrick!
With Lolo lying low in her own sport with her own injury, she knows the pain of being injured as well as Derrick, who is sidelined from the Chicago Bulls with a painful eye injury that required surgery and will keep him out of action for a few weeks.
So, Lolo donned a Bulls jersey, shorts, sneakers and posed on a basketball court on crutches wearing a protective face mask to emphasize Derrick’s injury! And in another snap, Lolo can be seen flat out on a bed resting her broken limbs, continuing the injured theme.
Some Bulls fans didn’t take too kindly to Lolo’s choice of costume. They took to Twitter to sound off on the costume, believing Lolo was dissing the NBA star.

Lolo Jones is an awful person in the public eye. She just is. There’s words for her that aren’t so nice, but I’ll stick with awful for now

Ironically, the crutches she has are for her own injury and weren’t a part of her Derrick costume at all! “My options were limited on what I could be for Halloween after hip surgery. I wish it was a costume but the crutches and brace are real. I’m gonna rebound from this injury like D.Rose. Can’t wait to be back. #ballisLife #DontKnowWhatThatMeans #RealFacialHair,” she captioned the video explaining her costume choice.
She also tweeted, “So its ok for @RealMikeWilbon to dress as Rose but not me and I’m actually injured 🤔 fans: #WhoWoreItBest.”
As far as a return to her own sport, Lolo’s focused on returning to track and field at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio. “I would not be sitting in this chair if I was not having Rio in the back of my mind,” Jones told USA Today back in Feb. 2015. “I’m definitely looking forward to those Games.”
