Anytime there’s any event in the Brown family, drama is not far behind. This week on ‘Sister Wives,’ the family throws an adoption party to celebrate Robyn’s three children officially joining the family — but they have a tough time agreeing on the theme.
The adoption wasn’t an easy process — Kody Brown had to divorce his first wife, Meri, then legally marry Robyn before even considering adopting her three children. However, it’s finally happening this week but the celebration is going to be quite insane. He wants a BBQ while the ladies are hoping for something a little more formal. Watch the sneak peek of the heated debate here!
“Were funny as a family. We really do celebrate our family,” Kody says in the clip while the wives gather around the table to plan the adoption party, that will take place in 11 days. He then says he’s going to pick up food from Rolling Smoke BBQ — but not everyone agrees on a “picnicky” feel. The women really want a Sunday meal type.
“You told me that you wanted a nice, Sunday dinner,” Robyn tells him. His response: “I’m not making that argument so just ease up.” Things are getting pretty intense! We know that the adoption does go through on June 17, and that everyone in the family were all really troopers about the whole situation, especially Meri.
“We had to do the restructuring so that we would do the adoption,” Meri told People. “That was something that I decided to do just for the purpose of the kids. And the adoption, it was something that I knew that they wanted to have their legal name Brown. They really wanted to be adopted.” Robyn also added that the court was a nerve racking experience. “But here we were the whole family and we were uniting our family. It was really cool for us. Very much a validation of our family.”
Sister Wives airs on Sunday at 9pm ET on TLC.
