Michael Strahan Vs. Robin Roberts: Who’s Cookie from ‘Empire’ Costume Reigns Supreme?

It’s a battle for the 'Empire!' Both Robin Roberts from 'Good Morning America' and Michael Strahan dressed up as Cookie Lyons for their Halloween specials on Oct. 30. Did Michael’s Cookie take the crown or does Robin’s costume rule all? Be sure to vote in our poll! There may only be one Taraji P. Henson, 45, but there are going to be plenty of Cookie Lyons this Halloween. The Empire character is one of hottest costumes of the year, and both Robin Roberts, 54, of Good Morning America and Michael Strahan, 43, dressed up as Cookie. But which Lyon roared loudest?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and Taraji must have felt very flattered that her character appeared on two morning talk shows on Oct. 30. Robin showed up on the set of GMA with a pair of “lions” — a Lucious Lyon to her left and a “real” lion to her right. While lounging on her royal throne, Robin captured Cookie’s attitude. It’s like she was running Empire Entertainment instead of reporting for GMA.

Meanwhile, on Live! with Kelly and Michael, the former New York Giants player slipped into his best leopard print before applying a stunning shade of lipstick. With a glass in hand, Michael definitely nailed Cookie’s sass. Maybe he can guest star on the next season as her long-lost sister?

While Robin was only Cookie during her time on GMA, Michael actually transformed into, like, a million costumes. He dressed up as characters from Star Wars, Magic Mike, even pulling out a Kanye West impression before getting into a Left Shark outfit. Michael’s hustle may win him the Cookie crown, or Robin’s dedication to the character may see her come out on top.

Perhaps Michael and Robin could get Taraji to weigh in on the decision and pick a winner? But, knowing her, Taraji will say that no one is a better Cookie that her! All hail the true Queen of the Empire!

While Michael and Robin were battling for the Empire, the Today show was heading back to the funny pages. The cast dressed up as the Peanuts gang, with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb going as Snoopy and Woodstock. While those outfits were impressive, they were not as surprising as Ellen DeGeneres’s costume: she went as the sixth Kardashian sister!

Who do you think was the better Cookie, HollywoodLifers? Michael or Robin? Be sure to make your pick in our poll!
