There’s definitely one person who won’t be voting for Kanye West if he runs for President in 2020 and that’s former President George W. Bush. When he was asked on Oct. 29 what his thoughts were on Kanye possibly running for POTUS, his reaction was priceless!
You’ll either find this hilarious or totally rude! Former President George W. Bush was caught off guard while signing autographs for fans in D.C. when TMZ asked him the million dollar question — what do you think of Kanye West running for president? His answer was short and straight to the point.
All he did was burst out laughing … no words and then he walked away. The native Texan might not be a big fan of Kanye considering in 2005 during a TV fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina, Kanye went off script and declared “George Bush hates black people.” Ever since then it’s safe to say they haven’t been on the best of terms. At one point Bush spoke out about it in an interview with Matt Lauer and said it was a horrible moment in his presidency and he resents Kanye for it. “He called me a racist. And I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now. It’s one thing to say, ‘I don’t appreciate the way he’s handled his business.’ It’s another thing to say, ‘This man’s a racist.’ I resent it, it’s not true.”
But someone who does have his vote is President Barack Obama who introduced Kanye when he was speaking at a DNC fundraiser in San Francisco: “A little bit later you’re going to hear from a guy who I hear has been talking about launching a potential political career. You may have heard about this: Kanye is thinking about running for Speaker of the House. But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing, or as he calls it ‘Peezy,’ I do have advice for him. This is some stuff that I’ve picked up along the way.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think George W. Bush was being rude or just joking around?
