It’s rare to have super couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together for a side by side interview. The pair is giving us serious flashbacks to their ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ characters in a new sit down chat. Only this time around, they’re actually a happily married couple!
Brad Pitt, 41, and Angelina Jolie, 40, almost never do interviews together. But since they’re co-starring in Angie’s latest directorial effort By The Sea, they’re making a rare exception. The happy couple discussed everything from the state of their marriage to Angelina’s medical decisions. It’s a far cry from when we saw them sitting in a therapist’s office in 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, where they played a very unhappy couple who were literally trying to kill each other!
In their new film, Brangelina star as couple whose marriage is disintegrating. While Angelina wrote and directed By The Sea, the plot of the film couldn’t be further from the truth about the couple in real life. “I’m counting on the audience to know that if it was close to us at all, we could never make this film,’ Angelina revealed in their interview with Tom Brokaw for the Today Show. ‘It’s because we’re actually very, very stable and these aren’t our issues.”
It’s great to see Brad and Angie be able to do press together for their new movie. When Mr. & Mrs. Smith came out in 2005, Brad had just split from wife Jennifer Aniston, 46 after falling in love with Angie while making the film. When the movie premiered, Brad and Angelina had yet to confirm their romance and did all press separately to avoid any tough questions about their status. This time around, they’re a happily married couple with six gorgeous kids and nothing to hide!
Angie also shared how much she valued Brad’s support when she underwent a double mastectomy in 2014 and had her ovaries removed in March of 2015 “I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn’t something where I was going to feel less of a woman, because my husband wasn’t going to let that happen,” she revealed. You can check the entire interview when it airs in full Nov. 2 on NBC’s the Today Show.
HollywoodLifers, are you looking forward to seeing By The Sea?
