3 Hospitalized After Plane Catches On Fire In Fort Lauderdale: Watch Video

A total of 10 passengers, including 3 who were rushed to the hospital, were injured after an aircraft burst in flames in Fort Lauderdale on October 29. We have all the scary details.

The engine of a Dynamic Airways jet caught on fire while sitting on the runway waiting for take off in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While the fire department was quick to put out the flames, 10 people aboard the plane were unfortunately injured. Passengers sitting in other aircrafts on the runway captured frightening footage of the dangerous fire. If you already have a fear of flying, be warned, the videos are not easy to watch.

Here’s everything we know. The plane behind the Dynamic Airways jet reported that fuel was leaking from the aircraft just before the fire started, according to ABC News. 

“Hey, uh, Dynamic is, out of the left engine, it looks like it’s leaking a lot of — I don’t know if it’s fuel, it’s fluid leaking out of the live engine,” the pilot behind the Dynamic jet told Air Traffic Control, according to audio provided by LiveATC.net. Moments later, that pilot spotted the fire and yelled “Engine’s on fire! Engine’s on fire!”

The aircraft’s passengers were immediately evacuated via slides, according to the FAA. The plane was waiting for its turn to take off to Caracas, Venezuela at 12:30 pm when the fire began. Here is another frightening picture captured by an onlooker:
