The South Carolina officer who violently dragged a female student across the floor after she wouldn’t put away her phone has been fired. According to Raven-Symone, he’s not solely to blame! Raven slammed the student, saying that she shouldn’t have been on her cellphone in the first place!
Saying something controversial? That’s so Raven! Raven-Symone, 29, came to the defense of Spring Valley High School Resource Officer Ben Fields, 34, the man accused of slamming a female student against the ground. While many condemned the officer for his excessive force, Raven thought there wouldn’t “even be a problem” if the student just obeyed the rules!
Officer Fields has been fired from his job, reports CNN, but not before Raven stood up for him and his actions. She made her remarks during the “After The View” segment on Oct. 26, according to The Root. While Raven acknowledged the officer’s history of “excessive force,” she seemed to think the girl was also at fault for what happened. “Get off your phone! You are in school — get off your phone,” Raven said. “What are you doing on Instagram?”
The shocking footage of the incident shows Officer Fields attempting to arrest the young girl after she reportedly caused a disturbance with her cell phone. When she refused to obey him, he violently grabbed her, flipping her onto the floor and dragged her to the front of the classroom. Ben was relieved of duty before, ultimately, getting fired. But, it seems Raven thinks he’s got a bad rap.
“The girl was told multiple times to get off the phone,” Raven said, adding that the officer was not right for inflicting “this type of harm” on the young girl. “But at the same time, you got to follow the rules in school. First of all, why are there cellphones in school? This shouldn’t even be a problem to begin with, and he shouldn’t have been acting like that on top of it.”
Uh-oh. Raven might now have to make another apology, just like she did after she insulted African-American names. In addition to this incident, Ben was named in a 2013 federal lawsuit that he “unfairly and recklessly target[ed] African-American students.” Raven’s comments were — not surprisingly — not well received by fans. Many accused her of being ignorant, while others were just over her.
Anyone else sick of Raven Symone?

Every time Raven Symone opens her mouth, pure ignorance comes out of it.

Raven Symone is seriously going to lose all of her career opportunities staying on The View. No one is gonna wanna work with her.

Seems like Raven Symone has been sniffing too much paint. Even though she shouldn't have been using her phone, he didn't need to slam her

What do you think about Raven’s comments about the Spring Valley High School student, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree with Raven that the girl should not have been on the phone, or does it not matter?
